The main difference between Apostille and Notary, is that an Apostille certifies the authenticity of the origin of a public document for international use.  Under the Hague Convention a Notary Public verifies the identity of  the person signing the document and authenticates signatures for domestic use.

Documents such as Birth Certificates, Death Certificates, Marriage Certificates and other

official records that need to be recognized as legitimate in a foreign country participating

in the Hague Convention typically require an Apostille

As of July 1, 2020, The State of Arizona introduced Remote Electronic Notarization (RON).  This was created as a convenience for those in need of an official authorization.  However there are technical requirements that limit this option for many people.
